New Feature: tool for refining keywords

June 23rd, 2006

As you might have noticed, a tiny magnifier icon has been added next to ‘by bloggerkit.com’ text string. If you click it, a window will pop up where you can refine your keywords. This tool will let you:

1. try out different keywords and find the best ones without leaving your site

2. now you can choose which products to be displayed out of all that match your keyword.

New Feature: no product list if no keyword assigned

June 22nd, 2006

For whatever reason, if you dont want any Amazon product be displayed along a blog post, don’t put bk_keywords on that page.
Note: it only works when there is NO other bk_keywords on that page.

Two examples:

A. page w/o keywords (no list above the comment section)

B. page w/ keywords (one Amazon list above the comment section)

New Feature: supporting Amazon.de

Since Marshall at Techcrunch profiled the BloggerKit yesterday, we’ve got lots of bloggers trying out this new tool. Some of them pointed out how we could improve our service and gave us valuable advices, and some introduced BloggerKit to more bloggers. Thank Marshall and anyone for your help! We really appreciate it!

Especially, many of you have suggested better ways to make bk_keywords invisible to the readers, and we’ve added them to the FAQ. Several bloggers also suggested us to support Amazon.de and Amazon.co.jp. We are already working on it and will try to release it ASAP.

Please feel free to send us any comment and suggestion! Without your involvement, BloggerKit maybe will get better but definitely much slower.

How to hide keywords

June 13th, 2006

It has been an issue raised by a handful number of bloggers since our launch. Here are the two recommended methods:

1. use html comment syntax (thanks to Sid Yadav from rev2.org)
while writing/editing in html mode, add this:

html.gif

2. use span property tag (thanks to kosmar)
while writing/editing in html mode, add this:

Finally everything is ready

June 11th, 2006

Man, it’s been one and half month! Finally everything is ready. We will officially launch BloggerKit the coming monday, June 12th.

So, what is BloggerKit? If you display some Amazon products relevant to your blog, your readers will love it and you could also make some money. Unfortunately, putting up an Amazon list is painful and often time consuming, not to mention updating the list to match each post.

BloggerKit lets you setup such content-related Amazon list effortlessly. Just copy our code to your blog template, and write some keywords in your post. Just like in this post, we add keyword ‘blogging’ at the end, and then in the sidebar you will see Amazon products about ‘blogging’. As simple as that.

Our philosophy is that making money can be user friendly. BloggerKit.com is just the start and we will offer more services down the line.
